POEMS AND PRAISES

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

GIVE THANKS

Give thanks to the LORD,

in the good and the bad,

For there's always a reason

For us to be glad.

God gave His Son

To die on the cross,

That's a reason for thanks

When we've had a loss.

When Jesus Christ died,

He paid for our sin,

He buired it deep,

But He rose again.

That's why we should always

Give thanks to the LORD,

For the blessing of Jesus,

And the gift of His Word.

OPEN UP THE DOOR

When the way is cold and dreary,

when the path is clouded o'er;

when your heart and soul are weary,

Christ is knocking on the door.

"Oh my child," says the Savior,

"Will you open up the door?

Come to Me, My precious young one,

I will lead you to the shore."

"We shall dine together, child,

let your hunger be appeased;

I have brought a fatted calf,

We shall have a merry feast!"

Oh say, why do you linger,

Why do you hesitate?

Love, joy, and peace He offers,

Why do you make Him wait?

COME FOLLOW ME

Oppressed and afflicted,

Jesus, God's Son,

We mocked and ridiculed

The Chosen One.

Softly He calls us,

"Come follow me,

See all the things

I've done for thee,

I bled and died,

Paid for your sin;

Crushing the Serpent,

I rose again."

All He has done,

Can we not see?

Can we not hear Him say

"Come follow me?
